VARGO® Improves National Tire Retailer Fulfillment Capability

HILLIARD, Ohio (June 8, 2022) VARGO®, a leading provider of material-handling systems integration, warehouse execution software and equipment solutions for major fulfillment and distribution centers, recently went live with a new fulfillment center for a well-known, multi-store tire retailer.

VARGO® implemented a custom-designed solution for this national tire retailer. The new solution can handle everything from rims to small trailer tires to huge off-road tires weighing 100 pounds. VARGO®’s system allows for crossdocking of 4,500 tires per hour to 100 tire stores.

VARGO® Upgrades Lead to Successful Peak for World Renown, High-End Fashion Retailer

HILLIARD, Ohio (May 12, 2022) VARGO®, a leading provider of material-handling systems integration, warehouse execution software and equipment solutions for major fulfillment and distribution centers, installs their Continuous Order Fulfillment Engine (COFE®) warehouse execution system (WES) in a world renown, high-end fashion retailer’s North Carolina fulfillment center to drastically improve peak records.

VARGO®’s COFE®, a WES that works in real time to organize, sequence and synchronize all warehouse resources —equipment, people and processes. COFE® is a waveless WES that enables continuous flow picking to minimize order cycle times, maximize efficiency and eliminate waves and buffers.

VARGO® implemented COFE® in the fashion retailer’s existing fulfillment center in North Carolina with minimal physical changes, which meant little operational disruption to the distribution center.

The peak was extremely successful, doubling the percentage of orders shipped within 24 hours and reducing one full day from the average click to ship cycle time.

WineDirect’s Fulfillment System Expanded by VARGO® to Meet Increased Demand

HILLIARD, Ohio (May 5, 2022) VARGO®, a leading provider of material-handling systems integration, warehouse execution software and equipment solutions for major fulfillment and distribution centers, was selected by WineDirect, the wine industry’s leading fulfillment solution, to expand their fulfillment center to increase efficiencies.

Due to the pandemic, home delivery of wine has grown, leading to WineDirect installing the second phase of the packing sorter. VARGO® added nine diverts and four take away lines to the existing packing sorter to help meet increased demand. A third taper was also added to the fulfillment solution. VARGO®’s updates doubled the processing capacity of the fulfillment center, allowing for shorter order cycle times.

VARGO® Promotes Eldred to Vice President and Growth Officer

Eldred joined VARGO® in 2012 as client executive, systems engineering, responsible for developing and implementing all strategic marketing plans and managing all client interactions. As vice president and growth officer, Eldred will keep the company’s customer-centric strategy front and center and oversee the sales team. Additionally, as a member of the executive leadership team, he will be tasked with optimizing all things that generate revenue – from sales, marketing, business partnerships and vendor relationships.

Eldred is a supply chain professional of over 25 years. Prior to VARGO®, he worked as a global market manager and director of support services, producing leading solutions for e-commerce and direct-to-consumer markets.
