VARGO® selected as partner for KLX Aerospace Solutions’ relocated, expanded global headquarters

New Miami site to include state-of-the-art warehouse

HILLIARD, Ohio (November 15, 2017) VARGO®, a leading provider of material-handling system integration, warehouse execution software and equipment solutions for major fulfillment and distribution centers, announced that KLX Inc.’s Aerospace Solutions Group has selected VARGO® to design the company’s distribution hub at its new global headquarters in Miami.

KLX Aerospace Solutions — which stocks more than 1 million part numbers for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) companies and airlines — is the world’s leading distributor and value-added service provider of aerospace fasteners and consumables.

KLX announced plans last year to build new headquarters in Miami. The 550,000-square-foot facility will include a new automated 400,000-square-foot warehouse dedicated to distribution. The new distribution center will consolidate existing warehouse facilities from three buildings to one.

“VARGO® will design, engineer and integrate fulfillment solutions for KLX within the new site, including conveyors, sorters and a three-level pick module,” said J. Michael Vargo, owner and president of VARGO®. “I am proud, and our VARGO® team is excited, that KLX has entrusted us with the design and engineering of their new world-class distribution facility that will serve KLX customers all over the world.”

As part of the solution, VARGO® will use its Continuous Order Fulfillment Engine (COFE®) to provide routing and basic warehouse control system functionality, when the facility goes live in 2018. The facility will be designed with the possibility of COFE®’s functionality increasing as the KLX business continues to grow.

The site is already under construction, and the testing and launch is currently scheduled for July 2018.

KLX offers end-to-end services that reduce cost, risk and complexity. The company employs more than 2,000 people in more than 65 locations around the world who work in the military, commercial and business jet space.
