POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking to fill Software Support, Quality Assurance and Implementations positions at our Columbus, Ohio, office. We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic, intelligent individuals with a “can-do” attitude who are willing to learn and grow within our company. The successful candidate(s) are expected to be relatively inexperienced, either having just earned his/her degree or having only a year or two of professional experience. This position will work and communicate closely with our more experienced team members on a frequent and regular basis.
This position involves software testing, onsite implementations/installation as well as being part of the first line of on-call support to troubleshoot and resolve customer reported technical and operational issues.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review existing code and make required modifications
- Submit all designs and code modifications for peer review
- Write, maintain and execute test plans
- Take responsibility for multiple tasks in multiple projects
- Provide on-call customer support to help assist with operational and system-related issues
- Willing to travel to support customer implementations
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or 2 years of equivalent work experience
- Strong written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills
- Experience designing software applications
- Familiar with distributed systems
- Prefer experience with C and Python development
- Prefer experience in Linux environment
- Prefer experience with MySQL
- Experience with .NET is also a plus

Software Project Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
Software Project Manager has the ultimate responsibility for the success of software deliverable; including customizations, turnkey solutions, implementations, client management, and overall client satisfaction.
Your general responsibilities as Software Project Manager
- Manage the software deliverable in its entirety with the assistance of the team of resources assigned to the deliverable (Technical leads, developers, business analysts, and quality assurance analysts)
- Collaborate with the client to produce properly on time, high quality, on budget results
- Provide traditional software project management responsibilities including; coordination of subcontractor work, creating and communicating project schedules (internally and externally), coordination of on-site resources, attending and documenting project meetings, following-up on software development status, etc.
- Create, document and review software requirements and interface specifications to support the base COFE® solution functionality as well as new software enhancement requests
- Provide “hands on” assistance with onsite testing and validation of the software
- Write and execute on operational test plans
- Prepare and modify user’s guide and onsite training materials
- Conduct operational Software training of supervisors and operators
- Prioritize multiple tasks and multiple projects simultaneously to effectively meet client delivery requirements
- On-site monitoring and validation of functionality for active projects
- Act as liaison between internal departments, clients and vendors on projects
- Project reporting (Customer/Management/Sales)
More specific tasks include
- Assistance with development of Customers Description of Operations
- Track and assist with development and maintenance of interface specs – Final Ownership
- Track and assist with development and maintenance of functional spec – Final Ownership
- Create roles and responsibility matrix
- Create project schedule in Microsoft projects
- Open JIRA tickets for project tasks
- Track development and overall project progress – JIRA tickets
- Document Scope and business case for enhancement requests
- Create proposals for enhancements – Hand off to Sales for delivery
- Build costing/budget workbook for pricing estimates to CFO
- Coordinate onsite resources for testing/validation/support
- Develop and maintain client test plan
- Prepare and follow-up on project closeout documentation
- Coordinate and communicate software installation times
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years software development and/or software product implementation experience
- Must be able to read/communicate code/development issues, i.e. “talk shop” with internal and external technical resources and decision makers
- General understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design, SQL query writing
- Competent with MS Project, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent customer management skills for administration, resolving issues and building customer relationships
- Attention to detail and relentless follow-up of project tasks
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to travel approximately 20% to 25% of the year
- PMP/PMI certification
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, Business, Technical Management or Communication
- Prior experience with projects in production / manufacturing environments integrating software applications with automation systems and electrical controls
- General data communications and network operating systems knowledge
Reports to
Currently, this position reports to the Director of Software with specific project related reporting responsibilities to the overall Program Manager for the solution deliverable.

Successful candidate must be an effective verbal and written communicator, have exceptional time management and negotiation skills, be very detailed orientated and ideal a strong mechanical aptitude.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordination of efforts, services and delivery of equipment from various trades and manufacturers to meet schedule deadlines
- Planning and scheduling projects in Microsoft Projects
- Monitoring, controlling and reporting project cost
- Periodic on-site monitoring and/or supervision of active projects and act as liaison between company, customer and vendors.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Periodic travel to fulfill on-site responsibilities
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical discipline (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 5 years automation systems and/or project engineering experience in technical products applications (conveyor systems, electrical control systems, robotics or automation applications, packaging systems, etc.). Cost estimating experience desirable

- Controlling project cost through value engineering
- On-site monitoring and/or supervision of active projects and act as liaison between project manager, customer and vendors
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical discipline (Master’s preferred).
